Tikasa Akita's

So you heard stories about these 'massive nasty dogs' that cant be trusted with children and other animals, well i'm not going to lie to you, if thats the way they are brought up then thats the way they will be!  Akitas can be aloof with strangers and  show dominance over other dogs, to have an Akita which is in a mentally stable condition you must show him your the boss, you must also socialise it from an early age and train him so he knows all your commands. Akitas are excellent family dogs in the right hands, they will love and adore you all their life, you couldnt ask for a better friend. Akitas will live happily along side another dog, cats and young children.

Akitas are like people some will come over and talk to you without giving it a second thought others will stay away and come over when they feel the time is right, take Sugar and Jazz for example, Sugar is very aloof and wary of strangers, she will stand a bark at you, then walk away, in this time she will not come near you until she has sussed you out, until she thinks you are worthy of her love. Then we have Jazz who jumps in feet first, ball's you over and slobbers all over your face! But all in all sugar makes the perfect well balanced family pet.

Akita's live happily with children, you should remember it's not only about training your Akita how to be around children but also training your children how to be around dogs. Akita's also live happily with other dogs if introduce correctly, if your akita has had correct training and knows you are top dog he will happily accecpt other animals in your home.

Although training and socialising plays a major part in the dogs temperament, so does breeding, you cant just put two dogs together and hope for the best, thats why you get problems not only physically but mentally, pedigree's must be studied correctly..............
